How to set up Echo Plus

Updated: Jun 7, 2019

Download the Alexa App:

Once you receive your new Echo Plus, download the Alexa App in your mobile browser at alexa.amazon.com or in your mobile app store. Opening the app will immediately start the setup process. During setup, you'll connect Echo Plus to the Internet, so you'll need your Wi-Fi password. Once you've connected to Wi-Fi and associated Echo Plus with your Amazon account, you're ready to start using your device. Now you can use the Alexa App to manage your contacts, view your to-do and shopping lists, remotely control music on your Echo Plus, link your accounts, access the Settings menu and much more.

Talk to Echo Plus

Simply say the wake word "Alexa" to start using your Echo Plus. When Echo Plus detects the wake word, the light ring turns blue to indicate that Alexa is ready to respond to your request.

You may also change the wake word to "Amazon", "Echo" or "Computer" in the Settings menu of the Alexa App.
